Beat Dropping Macs to Baz’s Outback Epic: A day in the life of…(5/20)

1 – You think you have time on your hands, check out this music video made completely using the Mac desktop and programs. [via swissmiss]

2 – Fraggle Rock: The Live Action Musical, man that just rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it? Off the bat you might think this is a crazy idea, but when Iron Man, Narnia, Inidana Jones and Wall-E prove complete and utter dominance over the box office, we can see why family films are the “green” way to go. All I really want to see in this is the Fraggles eat some Doozer buildings, which causes the Doozers to begin a Che-like revolution against their furry, multi-colored oppressors. Now that’s comedy. 3 – Watch the video attached to this page, then go outside and light up. I dare you. [via JoshSpear]

4 – This is generally how I feel about Monday mornings. [via Garfield Minus Garfield]

5 – Jonah Hill has been on a wild ride these past few years. Stealing scenes and winning over comedy critics in many of Judd Apatow’s recent hits, like Knocked Up, Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but now he’s making a step I could never have seen coming. He is reportedly heading up the project, and writing the script, for a silver screen version of 21 Jump Street. I’m not one to knock the show, it brought us Johnny Depp, Dustin Nguyen and Peter Deluise, not to mention a killer theme song by actress/star Holly Robinson Peete, but I don’t know if this is something that translates well. Narc’ing in high schools and busting pot rings might not hold the weight. Yet, if there is a Booker cameo by Richard Grieco, or if he actually turns out to be the villain, now we’re talking gold. 6 – This six minutes of stop motion animation must have taken months, but it’s worth years. [via GorillaMask via Liquid Generation]

7 – Foamy is back and this time I only have one word to say: cow-mouflage. [via ill will press]

8 – Have you ever wondered what “the good times” looked like? Check out this news video and learn. Pay close attention to the crawler on the bottom of the screen. [via swissmiss]

9 – Just in case you were wondering where Wile E. Coyote got all those neat gadgets, most of which he almost killed himself trying to use, here you go: The Online ACME Catalog. [via GorillaMask]

10 – It’s been years since we heard the beginning of this project, but we have finally got our first taste of Baz Luhrmann’s next epic film, Australia. Mmmmm, tastes like quality movie making to me. [via ComingSoon]

Sarcastic Squirrel to Super Spoon Design: A day in the life of…(5/2)

1 – Foamy is back to take on cell phones users and car commercials, two things that are guaranteed to find you each day just because you woke up. [via ill will press]

2 – I would say I loved the tenacity of this wanna-be criminal, but it could also be a cover for sheer stupidity. This young man went into a bank and tried to cash a check for $360 billion dollars. There is one word that will never be used to describe this attempt at check fraud: subtle. [via Perez Hilton]

3 – Critics and fans of David Blaine can debate throughout the night and day about his demeanor, tactics and overdramatization of his stunts, but the man gets results. He went on Oprah earlier this week and accomplished his goal of beating the world record for holding your breath at a stunning time of 17 minutes and 4 seconds. Frankly, someone who can not breathe for that amount of time scares the crap out of me. He now is added to the list of scary things, right above Flava Flav. [via Starpulse]

4 – The ITunes you will now be able to buy or rent new movies on the very same day it hits the shelves in all major stores. Coincidentally, you will also be able to start ordering pizza, popcorn, math homework and human companionship though ITunes on a sliding scale of pricing. Welcome to your “I”xistence. [via Variety]

5 – Iron Man is just hitting the theaters today, but the weekend predictions of it hitting upwards of $75 million in box office have got the studios already planning for the sequel. If they bring in Mandarin as the next villain, I might just spontaneously combust with joy, which is a messy process, trust me.[via ComingSoon]

6 – I hope this is a demonstration of talent and not a real game, because if my opponent starting beating me this badly, I think I might swallow the ping-pong ball as a more honorable way to die. [via Pandachute]

7 – What would go on inside a therapy session with all the main cereal mascots? Now you know. Also, it’s about someone challenged that damn Cap’n Crunch on exactly where he got his commendation from. I wanna see papers, Cap’n! [via CollegeHumor]

8 – Rev. Wright has caused the Obama campaign a ton of heartache and trouble since he was shown to go on racist and violent rants against America and her values. He claims that we are still a racist country. Somehow I think the way to help ease his worries over that subject or maybe discredit his argument has nothing to do with going on national television and call him an “uppity n****r”. Thanks Matthew Modine for once again giving people a reason to tell all actors to shut up and look pretty. [via Starpulse]

9 – Just so we’re clear, Robert Downey Jr. really likes to throw scripts at walls. It helps him think. [via Defamer]

10 – With this stroke of genius you will never find yourself again wanting for that lsat bit of Key Lime yogurt at the bottom of the disposable cup. Those extra few drops of anti-oxidants and food cultures are surely going to put you over the edge from “sedentary mass” to “healthy, active demi-god”. [via swissmiss]

Daily Musings 3/6

1 – Foamy is back, people. Let the rejoicing begin promptly. :)

2 – Maybe I find this amusing since I also have a line of t-shirts, but there is no doubt American Apparel’s advertising has always been borderline porn. The weird part is it’s really awkward 70’s style porn, like no one is happy to be taking part in it. So in essence, their awkwardness and possible repressed feelings from doing those shoots makes this parody video funny. I guess that’s something. [via FantasticBlognanza]

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P06zQ9js9mY]

3 – You know what happens when races get too close to call? The person least confident of winning starts whining and complaining about the race being unfair. Hillary Clinton is pushing for Florida and Michigan to get their delegates in the race, which are at the moment not counted since both states violated Democratic Party rules and moved their primaries up into January. Both state knew what the ramifications were when they made the move and are only rallying about it now because the race is incredibly close. Clinton is stumping for the rights of the states and those “unheard voters” only because everyone else skipped campaigning there except her, so she won both those states. If they get added back into the count, Clinton will get a huge boost and it will also be completely unfair. The more I read about this, the more this sounds like a Bush move. Way to show you’re the candidate for change, Hillary. [via CNN]

4 – Possible good news, Swayze fans: His own doctors came out yesterday to confirm that he is battling Pancreatic Cancer, but they report that he is only inflicted with a small amount of the disease and the dire proclamations made yesterday are far from the actual diagnosis. In this case, I am in full agreement with Perez Hilton and I think we should all buy and download Swayze’s song She’s Like the Wind off ITunes and push it back into the Top 10 as a sign of support. Help perk up Dalton!!! [via People and Perez Hilton]

5 – These USB batteries could the coolest new tech trinkets I’ve seen in a very long time. The people who thought this up need to stop thinking so much and give me some of that brain power. Do they even know how long it takes me to type these things? IQ Hogs!! [via JoshSpear]

6 – Ashton Kutcher could be an evil mastermind. It turns out that he has been secretly filming a new show, in Punk’d style, but this time he is not trying to fool the celebs, but the paparazzi. The show will set up ridiculous things for the photogs to run around, freak out about and waste tons of money and time printing in their daily gossip rags, only to be exposed later as being completely duped. If you have heard rumors of Paris Hilton walking around with a spiritual guide looking like an extra from Enter the Dragon, that would one of Kutcher’s masterpieces at work. I hate to admit it, but he could be kinda brilliant. [via WWTDD]

7 – It turns out that Buffy may be gone from our TV sets, but she is living on in the comic book world and inside that six-color-press universe, she might be playing for both teams. If they had only made Sarah Michelle Gellar go down this road with Eliza Dushku on the show, honestly, rating through the roof! (not that I had any problem with Alyson Hannigan blazing the path for her, that was equally fantastic) [via Perez Hilton]

8 – This is my first attempt at posting multiple thumbnails in one post, but this is worth it. They have just released the first shots of the actors in full Watchmen costume for each of their characters. I am personally excited by this because I happen to have the honor of being friends with Malin Akerman, playing Silk Spectre. The pics are incredibly rad and only boost my confidence that Zack Snyder will make this film utterly bad-ass.

9 – Another clever group of people have found a way to continue the parody cycle for The Bourne Ultimatum. Here’s the newest volley, The Waldo Ultimatum:

10 – I posted this video once in my old MySpace blog, but this is making the rounds again and I think it highly worth mentioning one more time. Here is the Latvian Cello Choir performing Europe’s rock classic “The Final Countdown”:
