Beat Dropping Macs to Baz’s Outback Epic: A day in the life of…(5/20)

1 – You think you have time on your hands, check out this music video made completely using the Mac desktop and programs. [via swissmiss]

2 – Fraggle Rock: The Live Action Musical, man that just rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it? Off the bat you might think this is a crazy idea, but when Iron Man, Narnia, Inidana Jones and Wall-E prove complete and utter dominance over the box office, we can see why family films are the “green” way to go. All I really want to see in this is the Fraggles eat some Doozer buildings, which causes the Doozers to begin a Che-like revolution against their furry, multi-colored oppressors. Now that’s comedy. 3 – Watch the video attached to this page, then go outside and light up. I dare you. [via JoshSpear]

4 – This is generally how I feel about Monday mornings. [via Garfield Minus Garfield]

5 – Jonah Hill has been on a wild ride these past few years. Stealing scenes and winning over comedy critics in many of Judd Apatow’s recent hits, like Knocked Up, Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but now he’s making a step I could never have seen coming. He is reportedly heading up the project, and writing the script, for a silver screen version of 21 Jump Street. I’m not one to knock the show, it brought us Johnny Depp, Dustin Nguyen and Peter Deluise, not to mention a killer theme song by actress/star Holly Robinson Peete, but I don’t know if this is something that translates well. Narc’ing in high schools and busting pot rings might not hold the weight. Yet, if there is a Booker cameo by Richard Grieco, or if he actually turns out to be the villain, now we’re talking gold. 6 – This six minutes of stop motion animation must have taken months, but it’s worth years. [via GorillaMask via Liquid Generation]

7 – Foamy is back and this time I only have one word to say: cow-mouflage. [via ill will press]

8 – Have you ever wondered what “the good times” looked like? Check out this news video and learn. Pay close attention to the crawler on the bottom of the screen. [via swissmiss]

9 – Just in case you were wondering where Wile E. Coyote got all those neat gadgets, most of which he almost killed himself trying to use, here you go: The Online ACME Catalog. [via GorillaMask]

10 – It’s been years since we heard the beginning of this project, but we have finally got our first taste of Baz Luhrmann’s next epic film, Australia. Mmmmm, tastes like quality movie making to me. [via ComingSoon]

Batsh*t Busey to Bark-swinging Bear: A day in the life of…(4/16)

1 – The most horrifying thing about this Gary Busey video is the dude talking to him looks like a film school student. My thought is Busey made good on his promise, then ate the kid following this video. [via FilmDrunk]

2 – Bill Cosby is going to release a hip-hop album. I’m predicting it will be sold in grocery stores around the nation with a bonus pack of Jell-O pudding pops. Mmmmm…hip-hop-pops. [via Starpulse]

3 – I’ve been a big fan of Baz Luhrmann ever since his reimagining of Romeo & Juliet, followed passionately by his current masterpiece, Moulin Rouge, but now you can follow his next cinematic exploits in a series of podcasted film school style entries during his time on his upcoming film, Australia. A must read for any film enthusiast. [via ComingSoon via Apple]

4 – My favorite part of this video is the judge/referee and his power to reconnect the planet. Seriously, do not mess with that dude. [via GorillaMask via Neenja]

5 – Bridget Bardot has gotten in trouble, once again, for making borderline racist comments about Muslims in France. She wrote an open letter about the tradition of killing sheep during one of the Muslim holidays and she let her anger over the animal rights bleed into her feelings about the entire culture. Tone it back, lady. Remember, France really doesn’t want to fight with anybody. Ever. [via IMDB via Hollywood Reporter]

6 – The upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is ringing in at 140 minutes long. As excited as I am for more Indy, they better be damn sure they really need my ass in that seat for almost 2 1/2 hours. Otherwise, I’m coming back with my whip and some corny sarcasm to do some damage in their camera booth. [via Defamer]

7 – On a more somber note, it was widely reported yesterday that Cameron Diaz just lost her father suddenly. He was said to have come down with flu symptoms that radically progressed into pneumonia and he passed away. My condolences go out to her and her entire family. [via The Superficial]

8 – Even though it’s only a small note on this post, it is worth mentioning that there is a solo album by Shirley Manson (aka lead singer of Garbage) struggling to make it’s way into the market. Seems there is some beef between her and the studio as to how to market it, but any album from her is an instant buy from me. [via Starpulse]

9 – This graph of what will happen to you as you play more and more Rock Band is truthful, simple and equally terrifying. I always get queasy as I look into my own future. [via CollegeHumor]

10 – Yes, this ninja-stick-twirling bear is adorable, but once again the true humor is the voice over translation. Stick around to the very end and just listen to the amazing excitement coming from the young female onlooker. [via Today's Big Thing]
