I’m an avid reader, haven’t always been that way, but it is something I have taken pride in honing and growing over the years. In my continued efforts to increase my library (the one in my office and the one in my head), I’m always on the lookout for great lists of “must read” books. Some of them can be lists of classics that helped build the styles and genres we enjoy today, while others are lists of contemporary works of genius that have to be enjoyed right now to see where the excellence is today.
I just came across this list from GalleyCat and I went ahead and downloaded a majority of them from the Project Gutenberg. Most of them were ones I’ve known about since school, but there were a few I’d never come across before. I also have on my bookshelf a volume called 501 Must-Read Books, which according to them I am woefully under-read.
What about you? Are there some absolute must-read books you’ve come across?
