Like most people out there, I have opinions and I have a voice. I try in various ways to combine those two things to get my thoughts out there into the world, connect with others and share in the wealth of ideas (built of equal parts genius, insanity and comfort food). Also like many people I found it easy to say how things should go, how people should act when faced with circumstances outside of the accepted norm. I’m a lifelong ally of the gay rights movement and while I believe gay people should all feel free to be open about who they are and what they deserve, being straight I myself have never had to feel that pressure or bear that load. As we find in most cases, it becomes a brilliant example of “Do as I say, not as I do” because in reality I am doing nothing beyond telling other people what to do. There are unending arenas where this plays out: racism, religious discrimination, physical deformities, job importance, the list goes on and on.
